Autonomous Bus Project in Schaffhausen Comes to an End Despite Success

After 18 months of operation, the autonomous bus service in Schaffhausen is being discontinued despite achieving a high technical reliability rate of 98% and covering over 8000 kilometers mostly accident-free. The decision to cease operations is due to the redundant bus line being replaced by a conventional service. Future projects in Zurich aim to introduce fully driverless vehicles, supported by new regulations set to take effect in 2025.
