Greek Farmers Plan Nationwide Protests Starting January 2024
In a nationwide meeting in Larissa, Greek farmers and livestock breeders have decided to mobilize with protests starting in the second half of January. Representatives from 67 associations discussed severe challenges in the agricultural sector, including climate change effects, disease outbreaks in livestock, and low product prices. Among their demands are government support for energy costs and changes to existing regulations. The protests will initially kick off in Karditsa with a demonstration scheduled for December 18.
