Abu Mohammad al-Julani, leader of the Islamist alliance that seized power in Syria, declared that armed factions will be disbanded and their fighters will integrate into the new regime’s military. He emphasized that all individuals will soon be subject to the law, reinforcing the authority of the new defense ministry. Al-Julani, whose real name is Ahmad al-Sara, made the announcement via Telegram through the Sunni organization Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which plays a central role in the alliance.
