Two TV debates are scheduled between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz of the SPD and Friedrich Merz, the CDU’s leading candidate, in February as part of the Bundestagswahl campaign. The first debate will air on ARD/ZDF on February 9, followed by a second debate on RTL on February 16. Other candidates, including Robert Habeck and Alice Weidel, are also expected to participate in their respective duels. The Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht announced plans to name their candidate for Chancellor to ensure fair competition.
