Piet S., a notorious drug dealer, has been ordered by a Dutch court to pay €19 million to the Public Prosecution Service, significantly less than the €99 million sought. Convicted for leading a major drug trafficking organization, he was previously sentenced to 17 years in prison for smuggling large quantities of drugs including cocaine and methamphetamines. Although the prosecutors alleged he earned nearly €100 million from drug sales, the court found sufficient evidence to link only €19 million directly to his illicit activities.
