Avanti West Coast Train Strikes Resumed Following Rejected Offer
Avanti West Coast has announced the resumption of strikes affecting train services between London and Scotland after members of the RMT union rejected a revised offer intended to resolve a dispute over rest day working. The union plans to strike on New Year’s Eve, January 2, and every Sunday from January 12 to May 25, citing the need for ‘sustained strike action’ to negotiate better conditions. Avanti expressed disappointment over the vote outcome and acknowledged significant disruptions to travel on the West Coast Main Line.
