A 33-year-old woman became the 62nd traffic accident victim in Crete this year after being struck by a speeding vehicle while locking her car door. The male driver, a French citizen, attempted to flee the scene on foot but was detained by local residents until police arrived. Emergency services rushed the woman to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
