European Union Mobilizes Emergency Aid for Mayotte and Mozambique Following Cyclone Chido
The European Union has initiated emergency support for Mayotte and Mozambique in the wake of Cyclone Chido. France requested assistance, leading to offers of shelter and supplies from Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. The EU is deploying resources from its rescEU stockpile, including medical supplies and emergency shelters. Additionally, 900,000 euros in humanitarian aid has been allocated to Mozambique, focusing on shelter, water, healthcare, and protection, along with airlifts delivering essential supplies.
