Restoration of the Vasari Corridor in Florence Set to Open to the Public
The historic Vasari Corridor in Florence, closed since 2016 for safety upgrades, will reopen to the public on December 21. Originally built in 1565 by architect Giorgio Vasari, the corridor allowed rulers to travel safely between the Palazzo Pitti and Palazzo Vecchio. The Italian Ministry of Culture has announced that all visitors will be able to access the corridor thanks to a new system of ramps and elevators. The official inauguration took place on December 20, with the presence of Italian Culture Minister Alessandro Gulio.
