This victory comes five months after Riner’s gold medal at the Paris Games, marking his return to competition where he secured a win against world champion Andy Granda in an intense match. Riner’s participation was confirmed just before the event due to a last-minute contract extension with PSG Judo, ensuring his involvement in upcoming competitions including the Paris Grand Slam.
