Swiss Air Criticizes Zurich Airport for Baggage Delays
Swiss International Air Lines has raised concerns about the high rates of delayed baggage at Zurich Airport, particularly noting that around 4% of baggage is not delivered as scheduled. Oliver Buchhofer, the airline’s COO, stated that the issue has worsened post-pandemic, with Swiss facing significant compensation costs exceeding ten million Swiss francs in 2024. The airport is currently modernizing its baggage system, but delays and operational challenges persist, prompting calls for improved efficiency from airport operators.
