The new railway line connecting Alexandroupolis to Ormenio has officially commenced operations, completing the railway network in the Evros region. Spanning 178 kilometers along the Evros River, it links the southern and northern points of the area, and plans for future improvements include re-establishing connections to Thessaloniki, increased services, and safety upgrades. Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Vasilis Oikonomou, emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing Greek railways and enhancing transportation safety.
