Introduction of New Unemployment Benefits Pilot Program in Greece
The Greek Public Employment Service (DYPA) has announced a pilot program aimed at modernizing unemployment benefits, initially established in the 1950s. Key features include a higher initial benefit that decreases over time, fair treatment based on individual contributions, and a focus on re-employment incentives. The program, supported by the OECD and the European Recovery Fund, is set to launch in early 2025 and will prioritize efficiency and effectiveness in support of unemployed individuals.
