Chalkidiki Seeks Financial Aid for Livestock Farmers Amid Health Concerns
Katerina Zografou, the Deputy Regional Governor of Chalkidiki, has requested financial support from the Ministry of Rural Development and Food to enhance prevention measures and increase compensation for livestock farmers facing potential epidemic outbreaks. The region is actively implementing biosecurity investments and has begun acquiring disinfection equipment. Continuous inspections of farms and distribution of educational materials are underway. Additionally, slaughter permits for goats and sheep will be allowed locally, contingent upon the absence of outbreaks. This proactive approach aims to safeguard both livestock and the farming community.
