Russian Freighter Sinks in Mediterranean Following Explosion

A Russian cargo ship, the ‘Ursa Major,’ has sunk in international waters of the Mediterranean following an explosion, confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Fourteen of the sixteen crew members have been rescued, while two remain missing. The explosion occurred between the Spanish port of Águilas and the Algerian city of Oran. The Spanish Red Cross has deployed a team to assist the rescued individuals, and Spanish rescue vessels are monitoring the area for potential fuel leaks.
