Residents of the Upper Coquet valley in Northumberland, living without mains electricity for years, are set to receive power as a long-awaited project finally comes to fruition. After a decade of campaigning led by Sam Wood and community support, a project funded by the Home Office and Ministry of Defence is underway. The community, which has relied on noisy diesel generators, looks forward to significant changes for their Christmas celebrations, despite some remaining residents still off-grid. The project promises to enhance their quality of life while preserving the natural beauty of the area.
