A 39-year-old woman from Arnhem has been sentenced to ten years in prison and mandatory psychiatric treatment for her role in a fatal arson that occurred in January 2023. The woman initially appealed for a lesser sentence but faced an increased penalty from the court due to the severity of her actions, which resulted in the deaths of two individuals and displaced several families. Although the court deemed a twelve-year sentence appropriate, her psychological issues led to a ten-year sentence instead. She is also required to pay compensation to the victims’ families.
