Violence Erupts in Syria as Fourteen Internal Ministry Members Killed
Fourteen members of Syria’s Interior Ministry were killed and ten others injured during clashes with forces loyal to former President Bashar al-Assad in Tartus. The conflict occurred as security forces attempted to apprehend a former official accused of crimes related to the Saydnaya prison, according to the de facto Syrian government. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported nine fatalities during the gunfire exchange between armed groups and security forces.
