Over 15,000 Asylum Seekers Remain in Germany After EU Transfers

The German government reports that over 15,000 individuals currently in Germany had previously been transferred to other EU countries for their asylum procedures. Of these, only one-third are under an obligation to leave. The majority of returnees came from Italy and Poland, with Russians, Afghans, and Iraqis making up the largest groups. Additionally, a court has ruled the return to Greece unfeasible for asylum seekers due to significant bureaucratic challenges.
