An indictment alleges Yoon authorized soldiers to use guns if necessary to break into the National Assembly, amidst escalating political turmoil and protests following his decree. The ongoing impeachment process may lead to his permanent removal from office as a constitutional court reviews the case. Former defense minister Kim Yong-hyun has also been indicted for allegedly facilitating Yoon’s orders.
