Gareth Southgate, former England manager, has been awarded a knighthood in the New Year Honours list following his successful coaching tenure which included leading the team to the Euro 2024 final and the 2018 World Cup semi-final. FA chair Debbie Hewitt praised his embodiment of English football values. Additionally, former rugby player Gerald Davies was also knighted for his services, while Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson received an MBE among other honorees.
