New Year’s Day celebrations in Ioannina commenced with a traditional ceremony at the Metropolitan Church of Saint Athanasius, followed by a reception hosted by the Regional Governor of Epirus. Additionally, the Municipal Symphony Orchestra will hold a New Year’s Concert featuring works by Johann Strauss II, along with festive arias and duets. The concert will take place at the former Zosimaia Pedagogical Academy, with notable performances by soprano Nadin Giaziou and tenor Thanos Zisis, conducted by Georgios Chlitsios.
