Downing Street Visitors’ Books Released, Featuring Signatures from History’s Greats

For the first time, visitors’ books from Downing Street, containing signatures of prominent figures from 1970 to 2003, have been made public by the National Archives. The volumes include entries from world leaders, including US President George W. Bush and Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, as well as members of the Royal Family. Historians describe the releases as valuable records of private conversations with prime ministers. The books, which were not intended for public viewing until now, showcase notable moments in UK history and international relations over three decades.
