Poland Takes Over Presidency of the European Union Council Amidst Challenges
Poland has officially assumed the rotating six-month presidency of the European Union Council, succeeding Hungary. Polish representatives will oversee numerous ministerial meetings through June, addressing EU legislative processes and resolving member state disputes. With a focus on security policies, the Polish government aims to enhance its role in European foreign policy, despite concerns over potential self-serving actions like those exhibited by Hungary under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Poland’s priorities include internal and external security, as well as safeguarding information, economy, energy, health, and food security.
