A 15-year-old boy died in Strasbourg after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on New Year’s Eve. The mayor of the city, Jeanne Barseghian, expressed condolences and called for a thorough investigation to locate the driver. This incident occurred amid reports of ongoing disturbances during New Year’s celebrations, with police noting a stable number of incidents compared to the previous year. Approximately 700 police and 500 gendarmes were deployed, leading to around 40 arrests for various disturbances.
