Why the U.S. Remains Without a Woman in Leadership

Despite Donald Trump’s electoral victory, the U.S. continues to be one of the countries that has never had a female head of government or state. Currently, only 34 out of 193 countries have women in either role, with notable examples including Barbados, which has women in both positions. Among G20 nations, only four have female leadership, primarily with ceremonial powers. Historically, it took decades for countries like Sri Lanka, India, and the UK to elect their first female leaders, highlighting the ongoing challenges women face in attaining high political office globally.
