Greece to Serve as Non-Permanent Member on UN Security Council for 2025-26
Greece’s tenure as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is set to officially begin with a ceremony on the evening of the 19th, where new member countries will be welcomed. Greek Ambassador to the UN, Evangelos Sekeris, will attend alongside representatives from Denmark, Somalia, Pakistan, and Panama. Greece aims to play a stabilizing role while prioritizing international law, peaceful conflict resolution, climate change, and security issues, as well as supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty amidst global challenges.
