Small Earthquake Recorded Near Kerkrade, Limburg
A small earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale occurred this morning near Kerkrade in Limburg. The epicenter was about 5 kilometers deep, making it felt widely in the area, though no damage has been reported. Seismology expert Läslo Evers from KNMI stated that such tremors are not unique to the region, noting their frequency and comparing the event to a truck passing by. Last year’s most significant quake in the Netherlands measured 2.2 in Groningen.
