Demolition of Earthquake-Damaged Schools in Tyrnavos Begins
The Mayor of Tyrnavos announced the demolition of a municipal school in Platanoulias, severely damaged in the March 2021 earthquake. This follows the recent demolition of a building housing a kindergarten and primary school in Dendra. Students have been attending classes at the International School located at the NATO headquarters in Tyrnavos. The municipality is covering demolition costs, with funding for new buildings provided by the Hellenic Electric Company (DEH). Completion of the new modern school buildings is expected within three years.
