Thomas Coville and his crew on Sodebo Ultim 3 are making significant progress in their attempt to break the sailing world record for the Jules Verne Trophy. Despite challenging weather conditions in the Indian Ocean, they recently passed the Cape of Good Hope over 28 hours ahead of the previous record set by Francis Joyon in 2017. However, as the race continues, their lead has diminished, now sitting at just under 300 nautical miles ahead of Joyon’s mark.
