For the 11th consecutive year, the statistics from the Ministry of Interior reveal that Messinia has seen more deaths than births, with 2,423 deaths and only 849 births recorded in 2024. This results in a population decline of 1,574 residents due to natural movement. Notably, 2017 was the last year when more than 1,000 children were born in the region.
