New Insurance Mandates in Greece for Vehicles and Businesses Starting June 2025

Greece is set to introduce mandatory insurance for vehicles and businesses beginning June 2025, driven by the increasing frequency of natural disasters. Currently, about 3.3 million out of 6.7 million vehicles are insured against such events. The annual cost for new mandatory coverage is estimated at 10 euros for vehicles valued between 12,000 and 15,000 euros. Additionally, businesses with revenues over 500,000 euros will also require insurance, with enhanced property tax discounts for insured properties.
