A 75-year-old woman, hospitalized with a cerebral hemorrhage, became a beacon of hope for others after her family bravely consented to organ donation following her brain death. The liver was successfully retrieved early in the morning and transported to the Hippokratio Hospital in Thessaloniki for transplantation. This act marks the 14th organ donation in Hrakleio hospitals this year and reflects the compassionate spirit of the island’s residents. The University General Hospital of Hrakleio expressed its condolences and gratitude to the family for their remarkable decision during a difficult time.
