Bianca Perea, a 32-year-old trainee lawyer from Wigan, became the first UK patient with advanced bowel cancer to successfully receive a liver transplant. After battling stage four bowel cancer and undergoing extensive treatments, she received a liver transplant in summer 2024, resulting in her being cancer-free. Grateful for the donor’s family, Perea is now focused on improving her health and living life fully, with medical professionals highlighting the significance of her case for the future of organ transplants.
