A new statue honoring the legendary soprano Maria Callas was unveiled at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, created by artist Nikos Floros. The statue, draped in the Greek flag, symbolizes Callas’ cultural legacy and features a Caryatid rising from the Aegean Sea. Tenor Akis Kalmoukis expressed emotional reflections on the work, emphasizing the significance of Callas’ contributions to the opera scene in Venice, where she made her debut in 1947.
