Greek Frigate HYDRA Deploys on Mission in the Red Sea
The Greek frigate HYDRA has departed for the Red Sea, where it will participate in naval operations for approximately 90 days. With a seasoned crew of 200, the vessel is equipped with advanced weaponry, including the ‘Centaurus’ anti-drone system, designed to counter aerial threats. This marks the frigate’s second involvement in the EU operation ‘ASPIDA’, which aims to protect commercial shipping from attacks, particularly from Houthi rebels in Yemen. The mission involves covering around 20,000 nautical miles while maintaining high alert levels.
