Antoni Bezas, head of the municipal party ‘Together for Igoumenitsa,’ announced that the University of Ioannina plans to maintain its presence in Igoumenitsa by utilizing the former XENIA property for innovative educational and research activities. The university administration aims to renovate the facilities in collaboration with local architectural departments and seeks to renew the property lease beyond 2027. Bezas urged local authorities to support the university’s initiatives and encouraged efforts to establish a new academic department based on prior legislation.
