Stella, a Dutch e-bike manufacturer, has officially declared bankruptcy, following a request for payment deferment just days prior. The company, which has faced substantial financial losses totaling €13 million over the past two years, employs around 440 staff across nearly 50 locations in the Netherlands and Belgium. With physical stores already closed, the fate of approximately 1,000 customers who have made deposits for new bikes remains uncertain. The appointed curator mentioned potential interest from several acquisition candidates but indicated that a takeover could not be swiftly arranged.
