The Hania City Council has approved a 25-year lease agreement for the former Military Museum building, located in the old Italian Barracks. The Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simantirakis, is set to sign the contract next Monday. This move aims to repurpose the structure, which has been vacant for years and partially burned in 2018, into the new City Hall. The lease includes a nominal monthly rent of €1,000, providing a new chapter for this historical site.
