Spain Deploys Research Ship to Search for Missing Flood Victims
In response to last week’s devastating floods, Spain has launched a research ship to scan the seabed for victims. Utilizing sensors and an underwater robot, the team aims to locate vehicles carried away by the floods, covering an area equivalent to 5,000 soccer fields. Over 20 crew members hope to provide useful information to authorities within ten days. While the underwater robot can reach depths of 60 meters, visibility remains a concern. The floods have claimed at least 223 lives, with nearly a hundred reported missing, raising fears that the actual number could be much higher.
