Derry Rally Unites Against Violence Toward Women

Approximately 1,000 people gathered in Derry for a rally to protest violence against women and girls, prompted by recent attacks in the area. Demonstrators showcased photographs of the 24 women killed in Northern Ireland over the past four years while calling for an end to gender-based violence. Organiser Catherine McDaid expressed pride in the turnout, highlighting a community unwilling to accept violence. With a heightened police presence in response to safety concerns, rally attendees voiced feelings of fear and frustration as they sought solidarity and support in the face of rising threats.
