US Justice Department Accuses Iran of Plotting to Assassinate Donald Trump
The U.S. Department of Justice has charged Iran with planning the assassination of former President Donald Trump. FBI Director Christopher Wray stated the charges reveal Iran’s ongoing threats against U.S. citizens. A 51-year-old Iranian national, under investigation for unrelated matters, claimed to have been instructed by Iran to devise a plan for Trump’s murder shortly before the U.S. presidential elections. The Justice Department has also charged two other men in connection with this plot and threats against an Iranian dissident.
