A harrowing incident unfolded during a hiking trip by members of the Heraklion Hiking Club in Greece’s Vikos Gorge, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old hiker. The experienced climber lost consciousness shortly before the group reached the village of Vikos. Rescue teams from EMAK responded swiftly but were unable to revive him; he was transported to the University Hospital of Ioannina, where his death was confirmed.
