Olive Farmers Report Satisfactory Harvest Despite Weather Challenges
In the face of unusual weather and drought conditions, olive farmers in Gonoi, Greece, express satisfaction with this year’s olive harvest. A third-generation oil mill owner, Mr. Theoharis, highlights that both the quality and quantity of production are excellent. However, farmers are calling for guaranteed prices before selling their products, as they received 80 cents per kg this year, significantly lower than desired. The region cultivates about 20,000 acres of olives, with some previously abandoned olive groves being revived for production.
