Authorities in Agrinio are investigating the potential premeditated murder of a 43-year-old woman, involving a suspect who allegedly procured a firearm from Athens and arranged a meeting on the day of the incident. The 30-year-old suspect, previously facing domestic violence charges, was apprehended after negotiations with police. He claimed the weapon was bought from the black market and that he intended to persuade the victim to stay with him. The victim, a mother of three, is the 12th woman murdered in Greece in 2024, raising concerns over gender-based violence.
