Greece’s Olive Production Set to Reach 250,000 Tons Amid Climate Initiatives
Greece anticipates an olive production of 250,000 tons this year, marking an increase from last year, according to Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Dionysis Stametritis. He emphasized strategies being implemented to combat drought and climate change, aiming to enhance resilience in agricultural production, particularly in olive cultivation. Plans include significant projects under the YDOR 2.0 program to improve irrigation infrastructure. The deputy minister stated that both large-scale and small irrigation projects are scheduled for development, alongside initiatives to assist farmers with establishing their own irrigation systems.
