Severe Rainfall Triggers Evacuations and School Closures Across Eastern Spain
Heavy rainfall forecasted in eastern and southern Spain has led to school closures and precautionary evacuations in several regions, including Málaga, Granada, and Valencia. The national weather service has issued a red alert, predicting up to 180 millimeters of rain in Tarragona and 120 millimeters in Málaga. Approximately 3,000 residents have been evacuated from areas prone to flooding. This comes shortly after devastating floods in late October claimed over 200 lives, mainly near Valencia. Many still remain missing, prompting protests against the regional administration for inadequate disaster response.
