Rhodes Water Utility Cuts Supply to 1,400 Non-Paying Businesses

The Municipal Water and Sewage Company of Rhodes (DEYAR) has suspended water services and removed meters from 1,400 commercial consumers who failed to settle their debts. The utility took this step after multiple notifications went unanswered, emphasizing the need to maintain a collection rate above 85% for financial sustainability. The outstanding debts of these businesses total €24 million. DEYAR aims to treat all customers equally and will unilaterally terminate agreements with those non-compliant with their payment obligations.
