Homebase Enters Provisional Liquidation in Ireland Amid UK Store Closures
The High Court has appointed provisional liquidators to HHGL (ROI) Limited, owner of Homebase stores in Ireland, while the retailer continues to operate under provisional status. Teneo Financial Advisory’s Damien Murran and Enda Lowry have been tasked with exploring options for the business. In the UK, Homebase has gone into administration, resulting in the sale of up to 70 stores and the brand to CDS, potentially securing 1,600 jobs. Homebase’s challenges stem from declining consumer confidence post-Covid, high inflation, and global supply chain issues.
