Thessaloniki’s Urban Revitalization: Economic Growth and Green Spaces

Thessaloniki’s municipal council highlighted the potential benefits of the International Exhibition Center’s redevelopment during a recent session. The project will feature a new urban park spanning 113,616 square meters and will cut the newly built exhibition center’s footprint by 20%. Expected economic activity during construction will reach €70-80 million, creating around 1,000 jobs annually. Once operational, the center could generate €350-400 million yearly, adding over 1,500 jobs. Local authorities emphasize the necessity for more green spaces and accessibility while ensuring proper maintenance of the new park facilities.
